Hello my name is Amber. I created a piece of art I call Fantastic Feathers. I created original art, using my own ideas, and colors. I created it using acrylic paint, glue, and glitter. When I used the paint I first started to mix warm and cold colors together, for example dark blue and a violet color which are cool colors. Then I made individual feathers in different colors. I then painted the background a dull gray so the feathers would stand out more than the background would. But then I saw the background was too simple, so lastly I added metallic gray streaks with glitter. First with the glue I used to to apply the feathers to the background arranged in a complete circle, then I used the glue to stick the glitter to the background. I learned that you are able to mix glue and glitter together and it turns out like a paint you can just paint on your artwork. I challenged myself by doing that since I didn’t know how good it would work out. The art element I used was value, for example with the pink feature started with a deep pink and changing it to a light pink with a tint of metallic gray brushed on top.
In this project I focused on developing my own art skills. I did learn new techniques, I never used acrylic paint until this artwork. I was totally new to this paint as it spreads differently than temperate paint. I learned the technique of how to mix for example a dark and lighter blue. I did gain skill with familiar material. Whenever I use color pencil, most of the time I use to layers of two different colors. So in this project for example I layered shades of green, blue, and some purples together to make the water. I first started with my trees, with a base layer, and then added the texture of the trees. Then I did the background a darker green to show there is more trees in the background. Finally I did a base layer of blue for the water, then went over with different shades of blue. In this I used space because of how close and far I put the trees. Secondly I used value, for example how I went darker to lighter in the water.
For my project I did a temperate and water color paint project on a tree with the fall colors(orange, red, yellow). I used my own unique ideas by using water color blue to make the blue sky a lighter blue. I did use some inspiration, when I was up north hunting I was looking at the trees with all the different colors it gave me the idea to do this project. 1.I fell I connect to this artist because because he uses a lot of color and I love using a lot of color in my art work. I feel using a lot of color makes a project interest and different because there is so many colors to make and put together.
2. The artist does use the color in a unique way. He uses what looks like some kind of paint and does different methods with it. For example he has the paint like dripping down and he uses different shades of a color on the same picture. 3.The artist uses shape because he uses many different unknow shapes to make the artwork different. And texture because he has different ways in his picture how he shows the look of the paint, for example how some parts looked scribbled or valued. |
